THE STATE OF STATE ENTERPRISES IN SRI LANKA – INAUGURAL REPORT 2016

The state in Sri Lanka has a large footprint in the economy.  Sri Lanka has 245 state enterprises, yet there is no one document or place where data about their performance can be extracted.   In our inaugural report, we try to tabulate the profits and losses of the data available on SOEs in Sri Lanka as well as offer how these inefficient enterprises can be reformed even if outright privatisation remains politically unfeasible.
